Re: change in OpenCL device numbering behaviour

Ah. Thank you. I guess it is not unexpected if one knows to expect it :)
Given in my case the 2 manufacturers of stuff in the same PC are Intel and Nvidia, I should expect the worst :D

change in OpenCL device numbering behaviour

It seems there has been a recent change in OpenCL device numbering behaviour in Windows and/or nvidia driver and/or ffmpeg. Until recently, the ffmpeg command below used to consistently report NVIDIA CUDA device as number 1.0 and the other as 0.0 (on multiple computers). Just recently, I noticed tha...

info: "Turing GPUs improved quality and performance compared to Pascal"

per https://github.com/rigaya/NVEnc/issues/88#issuecomment-437714361 and https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support-matrix with your finger on the pulse, no doubt you knew this: Update from NVIDIA. https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support-matrix Look like NVENC ...

Re: GPUs vulnerable vector for attacking PC

That's true.

Yet again ... how many people download things like avisynth and its myriad of plugins, vapoursynth and its myriad of plugins, ffmpeg and its myriad of dependencies, x264, x265, etc ?

(excluded mentioning DG's stuff, because DG is self-evidently trustworthy)

GPUs vulnerable vector for attacking PC

Goodness me, an interesting article about a research paper. Looking forward to the patch :D https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/11/181105143121.htm ...reverse engineered a Nvidia GPU to demonstrate three attacks on both graphics and computational stacks, as well as across them ... All three a...

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion

Just a note about the .rar file not opening in 7zip commandline, Per http://forum.???.org/showthread.php?p=1853939#post1853939 when I try to manually use standalone z7ip to even list the rar file, it fails. Would it be possible to consider using .zip or something ? I'll look into it tomorrow. Thank...
