DGDecNV (linux)
Wow I'm impressed that so many progresses have been made. It's awesome to see tools being ported to Linux. I personally don't have any Linux boxes that I can test with DG tools (due to not having a graphics card), but if you are interested in creating a Debian package, you can take a look at this di...

[RESOLVED] Donate on behalf of another person
Looking to donate using PayPal but for another person as it's inconvenient for him to donate himself.
What information do you need, and how should I proceed?
Thanks.

Re: Feature Requests
Extra zoom ratio for 8K contents?
Tried to index a 8K file on a 1080p screen, and the main window broke the border of the screen.
Would be sweet to have an extra zoom ratio of 1/6 or 1/8 and be able to automatically switch to that for 8K content.
Thanks.

[RESOLVED] Occasionally missing DGI index items and causing seeking inaccuracy
Well, this is not very reproducible. I indexed a large file ( > 7GB ) and found some of the frames missing, and causing frame seeking inaccuracy. I tried to cut at various size, and I noticed it sometimes reproduces but sometimes not. After examining DGI files I notice that all problematic cases it ...

Re: Parsing some DVD
Like Rocky said, inside DVD Decrypter, switch to IFO mode, make sure in program settings you turn of VOB splitting feature (splitting size = None), pick your PGC, select your chapters as required, and execute it to give you a nice and clean single VOB file. All DVD are now gone for hell in thrash b...

Re: Parsing some DVD
Our "standard" way is to always extract per PGC VOBs from disks, with splitting option off, into directories before processing it. In other words, we never (and should never) directly import VOBs from DVDs, as size based splitting could cause issues, potentially. Could you please elaborate the prog...

Re: DGNV HDR preview doesn't match DGHDR2SDR results
As a side note, a manual conversion as I wrote in OP didn't give me the same color either, so I might have done it wrong.

Uploaded a sample file. Steps for DGIndexNV 1) Load hevc file 2) Video - HDR to SDR 3) Enable HDR to SDR 4) Enable HLG 5) Set params to 7000, 0, 0.42, 1.00, 1.00, 1.00, 0.70, 0.70 6) F8 copy frame Steps for DGHDRtoSDR 1) Create index file 2) Create AVS file as dgsource("HLG-7600241771-7663549204.dgi...

Re: 2:3 pulldown – or not?
Can you please clarify this aspect? It's something bit obscure to me. In order to fit anything into a DVD, you have to fake a few things. For example, since video resolution can only be 720x480 for NTSC contents, you have to either resize 848x480 to 720x480 and set DAR back to 16:9, or add black bo...

Re: 2:3 pulldown – or not?
DVD specs only allow 720x480@29.97fps and 720x576@25.0fps (among a few other uncommon options). If the movie is 848x480@23.976fps, it must be converted or flagged to 29.97fps interlace and resize or letterbox to 720x480 to be able to fit into a DVD disc. No exception as long as it's a valid DVD vide...

Re: 7 extra frames on 1 source
Yea occasionally they insert IDRs at some commercials or between programs, it's kinda random. Sometimes it's just full CRAs across multiple programs.

Re: 7 extra frames on 1 source
Yea it happened to TV caps a lot. They use CRAs instead of IDRs as many as possible, so the program can only be cut on CRAs. It's wise to make it work like AVC leading B frames and keep the rest of the video in sync and seek accurate.
Thanks for all the work guys!

Just a reminder: I could be wrong though. I'm very new to the 4K/8K/2020/HLG world, so I'm still exploring and trial and error.

[CLOSED] DGNV HDR preview doesn't match DGHDR2SDR results
dgsource("main.dgi") DGHDRtoSDR(mode="hlg", ..., fulldepth=true) ConvertYUVtoLinearRGB(Color=1) ConvertLinearRGBtoYUV(Color=2) # Or # ConvertToRGB32(matrix="Rec2020") # ConvertToYUV420(matrix="Rec709") DGHDRtoSDR alone doesn't match DGNV HDR preview. Thanks for the correction.
By the way, they used 22.2 channels so it's 24 in total I don't even think there's any OSS decoder yet.

Re: 7 extra frames on 1 source
I see.
Well, this is the part I don't understand well. They used to be very conservative on broadcasting (Hint: mpeg2 interlaced 1440x1080 SAR 2ch aac) but all in a sudden they are going to the moon (hevc 10bit 4k / 8k with open-gop rasl+radl and 22.2 channel latm aac audio).

Any reason keeping them as-is? Like, what if we just shift it to above zero? Just my 0.02 guess though.

Random access to 23 and move forward to 24 I'm seeing the end of the program. Random access to 24 and I'm seeing the next program. Definitely negative POC shifting problem is solved.
Seeking inaccuracy still presents. I have uploaded a minimized sample to your FTP "259test4.hevc", please check frame 24, sequential and random access.

Wow that's a lot of work. Didn't notice your avatar change though (looks pretty much the same so...) Good to know the bug is fixed.
