Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
If you have an application that accepts 16 bit you can omit the convertbits call. Or you can change it to convertbits(10) if your application accepts 10 bit. x265 accepts both 16 and 10 bit input but it is still not clear to me which would have better results finally in case of HDR input: 1. by usi...

Re: Metadata changes in a HDR stream
Thank you. x265's "slower preset speed" increased a lot recently so it is high time again to archive…:)
Yes. The sources are HDR and I want to keep both resolution and color space intact in my encodes altough DGHDRtoSDR must be working like a magic wand.

Re: Metadata changes in a HDR stream
Thank you. This means for me that there is no need to add any dithering (default = -1 = do not add dither).

Re: Metadata changes in a HDR stream
Hello there, I have just got started again my encoding job around my archive collection after a short break... :) At the moment I do not really know what to do with the 16-bit hdr output of dgdecnv. I'd either use ConvertBits(10) feature at the end of my script or just feed the 16-bit hdr stream dir...

Re: Metadata changes in a HDR stream
Hello,
I have just created this file on my HTPC with an older version of DGIndexNV installed. Please let me know if it is not ok to solve the problem.

Re: Metadata changes in a HDR stream
Isn't it possible for DGIndexNV to export the dynamic metadata from a HDR10+ stream?
Then one could import the resulted json file ("with the meta data that follows samsung's description") into x265 using the -dhdr10-info " path to file" option. I would pay for such a new feature.

Re: Metadata changes in a HDR stream
I have checked. It is HDR10, not HDR10+. I think the first row is correct. Mediainfo told the same about the source as the dgi file in the first row: colour_primaries : BT.2020 transfer_characteristics : PQ matrix_coefficients : BT.2020 non-constant MasteringDisplay_ColorPrimaries : R: x=0.680000 y=...

Re: Metadata changes in a HDR stream
It is the Batman Begins (2005) 4K HDR Disc from the version that is available in Central Europe. :) Anyway, what could one do with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision streams? Is it possible to encode such streams while keeping at least in the output stream the static part of the HDR metadata of them? I meant i...

Re: Metadata changes in a HDR stream
Bought it, then ripped the main feature using makemkv, then used StaxRip with DGDecNV to encode it with x265.
I check it's cover and let you know about the format.
Thank you very much for your time and efforts!

Re: Metadata changes in a HDR stream
Unfortunately, it is not available anymore. I am going to post the next one of course. I am using x265 for encoding.Only one "--master-display" and "--max-cll" parameter is accepted by the encoder for the complete stream, so I used the 1st one that was printed out by DGIndexNV. I hope I didn't make ...

[RESOLVED] Metadata changes in a HDR stream
I have been decoding my HDR videos using DGDecNV. I have just found one "strange" video having a dgi file that contains two series of different HDR meta data, however both seem to be correct. I have never encountered such an issue so far. All dgi file contained only one serie of HDR metadata with al...

Re: DGDenoise
Hello,
Sorry for asking that, but how can one access CUDA Filters packaged into DGDecodeNV?
I have been using DGDecNV for a few years and now opted for giving a try to DGDenoise to speed up my scripts feeded into x265.
Thank you in advance for the support.

[RESOLVED] Colorimetry values in a dgi file
I had some problem reading out the colorimetry values from a dgi file. It is not clear to me without assignments to the corresponding numbers. E.g. Colorimetry 2 2 2 means undef/unknown for all three parameter or bt709? Please help. I would like to feed the encoder with the correct parameters. Thank...

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
@mparade Your further testing would be helpful and appreciated. Chow! I have just started my tests using StaxRip, Avisynth+ and latest DGDecNV with latest NVidia drivers on my 10-bit HDR10 HEVC sources and cards with Pascal architecture. Next week I will buy a HDR TV as well so that I can make more...

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
Thank you. Until then, I freeze my HDR/4K re-encoding projects.
Is the bug only with high-bit-depth HEVC streams, or with HEVC streams generally?

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
The artifacts are the same in VdubFilterMod. I had to use ConvertBits(8) because otherwise the program displayed some error message. But without ConvertBits(x) the results will be the same surely, because my 10bit encodes (16bit input, 10bit output in x265) has the same artifacts: http://www.mammutm...

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
I have completed my first HDR encode using DGDecNV, but unfortunately I saw some artifacts during decoding the output: http://www.mammutmail.com/hu/download/bdf08e075867514436013154b6fea0dd I don't know yet if it is only a decoding problem now or if it is involved in the encode itself already due to...

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
Unfortunately, the standpoint of the author of Vapoursynth , that I know, is as follows: "I already support all the avs+ formats. This is something else. I also have no intention of paying (I mean compulsory donation hahahahaha) to debug this. Or buying an nvidia graphics card for that matter. Let t...

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
I can confirm your statement now. Using latest DGDecNV, HDR-10 source and Avisynth+ (came with Staxrip), the encoding just have started using 16 bit input and 10-bit output. Encoding speed is 35-40% faster than the software decoding was without my GPU's support. So, if someone would like to use DGDe...

Re: not able to feed the encoder
Still no success. Using True instead of true I got an error message from the encoder: x265 [error]: unable to open input file Programmer said: "Guessing that 'True' wasn't the right way to go. Seems like this isn't possible atm." Sorry for asking it but before asking Vapoursynth can we exclude a bug...
