Re: [RESOLVED] Failed to create video decoder (2)

So GTX 570 is old? :o The card is just few generations old, handles most games, even the new ones. Too bad, no point buying new one when I don't play games often and don't have problem to play few years old games (problem is to find the time...). Windows 10 presents problems because one cannot easil...

Re: [RESOLVED] The better way to deal with an i/p mixed MBAFF source?

I use this for partially interlaced 25/25.97 fps sources:

#ShowCombedTIVTC(cthresh=7, MI=70, metric=0)
TFM(pp=2, clip2=QTGMC(preset="slow").SelectEven(), cthresh=7, MI=70)

The thresholds may need some tweaking, that's where ShowCombedTIVTC comes in handy.

Re: Getting "Scan Lines" When Using fieldop

SG-1 sadly cannot be inverse telecined to 23.976 fps without any side effects. It would require variable framerate to remove all interlacing and keep all frames. VFR (playback at 60 Hz TV frequency) isn't very suitable for fluidness, though. Plus it has a lot of grain and encodes would need huge bit...

Re: [RESOLVED] Best practice for deinterlacing 25FPS TS?

Deinterlacing can smear fine details and do other damage to progressive frames, sometimes it's very noticable. I had good results with little false positives or overlooked frames using TFM(pp=2, clip2=QTGMC(preset="slow").SelectEven(), cthresh=6, MI=60). Threshold can be tweaked as needed, ShowCombe...

Re: [RESOLVED] Best practice for deinterlacing 25FPS TS?

It can, but it usually is not interlaced for movies. And it usually isn't MBAFF either, but Scan type: Interlaced.

Re: [RESOLVED] Best practice for deinterlacing 25FPS TS?

You are misled then. I also live in Czech Republic and 99.9% of HD movies and TV series are progressive. I know it because I dealt with captures from ČT1 HD of most movies available in HD ;-) Of course it's coded as 1080i50 using PsF or MBAFF and the stream is marked as interlaced or MBAFF, but when...

Re: Best practice for deinterlacing 25FPS TS?

Be careful with deinterlacing as complete majority of TV (HD) and movie European 25 fps content is progressive (99.9%), docus often times as well or mix of both and only sport, music and live feeds are usually interlaced.
As admin said, quick visual inspection tells you all.

Re: Configuring Nvidia

You don't need to change anything in nVidia's control panel, defaults are fine for anything related to decoding video with DGDecNV.

If that's what was asked :agree:

Re: [RESOLVED] Lip sync for BBC encodes from HD channels

Or you can demux with eac3to, run it through delaycut to find the place where it switches in miliseconds, then with eac3to apply that as negative delay and again as positive delay to strip the 2ch beginning.

Re: [RESOLVED] Cropping with 2px step, is it possible with DGDecNV?

Why don't you crop with Avisynth? You can crop to mod 2 width/height (Avisynth 2.6). You can crop 1px if you're cropping from two opposite sides. You can crop by 1px if you're resizing to 720p with Spline36. You can FillMargin 1px if you can't crop it. And I didn't mention the million other things y...

Mux them to mkv with mkvmerge or eac3to? Or to m2ts with tsMuxer?
Why are you demuxing it in the first place?

Re: Cutting out adverts with trim and in-sync audio

You're probably better off with cutting the audio separately from avisynth, without reencoding. eac3to or delaycut can easily cut ac3 (and it's fast and lossless operation). Combined delay for -552ms and -173 frames (-173/23.976*1000 = -7215ms) would be -7767ms.

Re: Blending Frame

For the audio to stay in synch, you would have to discard 1 frame (either frame1 or frame2):

source=trim(source, 0, frame) + frame1 + trim(source, frame+2, 0) #insert blended frame

Glitch in decoding H.264 #3

I'm back with the same kind of glitch like before and I hope we finally figure it out this time :-) I got a 15 frames long glitch caused by decoding of H.264 track from TV capture via DGDecNV. The glitch is not there when I use DirectShowSource or FFVideoSource, or if I play it in mpc-hc with CoreAV...

AvsPmod releases everything when re-freshing preview, or at least I never had a problem with GTX 570 or even with older GT 220 M.

Re: Glitch in decoding #2 - this time replicable

Yeah, the glitch was somewhere in the source (it was there with CoreAVC too), but if I seek 100 frames before that frame 448 and then frame-step to 448, there's no glitch in output.
Only if I frame-step from frame 0, it causes the glitch in output. I wonder why is that?

[RESOLVED] Glitch in decoding #2 - this time replicable

I was lucky and discovered this glitch occuring right at the beginning of movie, frames 448-454. In the glitch, it shows blended frames from few hundreds frames back. The glitch is there only if I frame step it in Avsp (fast with right arrow) or play it in mpc-hc/Virtual dub, the glitch is not there...
