ever considered supporting AMD cards too ?
I was thinking more just remove the CUDA requirement. That way all cards could use it. Similar to how LSMASHSource and FFMS work. Cause DG is much better then those..

ever considered supporting AMD cards too ?
I only use that PC for my Plex Server and Encoding videos. So spending 300$ on a GPU isn't exactly what i'm looking for even tho it's not a terrible price. Onboard video is fine for decoding. But the Intel Arc Pro A60 has 12gigs of VRAM and hardware support for ALL codec and it's only 130$.. So it's...

ever considered supporting AMD cards too ?
With the insane cost on Nvidia cards these days.. I do wish DGIndex worked with ALL video cards
That Intel Arc Pro A60 would be so great to use with this frame server..

HDR -> SDR conversion
Mega late reply but I found the reason. Seems the "default" values for .14 and .15 are different.. I just had to adjust .15 back to .14's default values and the results are now identical.

HDR -> SDR conversion
Did DGHDRtoSDR_1.15 get a different tonemap algorithm vs DGHDRtoSDR_1.14? Results seem very different.

Looking forward to this.. eac3to is kinda vaporware atm.. So will be nice to have a more supported demuxer.

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion
Have you ever considered making an HDR to SDR app for the Nvidia Shield? It has an Nvidia GPU in it and one thing it lacks is an HDR to SDR app that can hook onto Plex or Kodi or some other popular video apps. Could even charge for it an probably make some decent bank. :D https://nvidianews.nvidia....

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion
The gamut mapping was creating a small noticable green bias for some streams; the default hue setting corrects for that. You can set it to 0 if you prefer. Alright. Yes I do prefer zero. Seems like the versions before 1.11 has "0" as the default even tho there is no hue option.. Just have to rememb...

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion
Question about this new setting..
Shouldn't it default to 0? Just wondering this change is all.hue=10.0 Hue adjustment used to correct hue shift due to the gamut mapping.
Values above 0.0 shift toward red. Values below 0.0 shift toward green. The
default value is 10.0.

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion
Stark image is from the 1080p bluray.. Not the UHD..
UHD and 1080p BD's do not have the same color.
and on top of that you have never seen a UHD in it's native form.. So you have no idea what Tonemapping is correct. The quest for a perfect SDR tonemap is impossible right now.

Re: fulldepth=True
Hi Is is means DGSource won't "upscale" bitdepth from 8bit to 16bit if i'm using 8bit source Some of our encoder want to handle banding and some other fixes in 16bit before outputting a 8bit video. If DGSource won't "upscale" the source then I may need to process it with extra filter or something s...

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion
Thought it was common knowledge that banding is caused by the down conversion from a higher bit master to 8bit? But anyways.. Here is an example of 8bit vs 16bit vs DGHDRtoSDR. I could not use DGHDRtoSDR in this test for 16bit cause I am sure its going straight to 8bit. That is why I asked if that i...

I was under the impression that the DGHDRtoSDR plugin automatically converted everything to 8bit. Is this not true?

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion
Down converting to 8bit causes banding. You can't just up convert back to 10/16 and its fixed.. the data is lost. A plugin would be required to fix the banding.
Can't encode in 10bit basically. Properly.

Is it possible to have your plugin not take everything straight to 8bit? Like a bits="10" command or something?

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion
You guys are trying to solve a tonemapping problem that cannot be solved. We cannot see what an UHD clip is suppose to look like because we don't have the proper display for it. What we have is a glimpse of it atm. Should just include all the tonemapping algorithms in the dll and let people choose w...

I actually found the problem before getting a new card.. one of my avisynth plugins was out of date on the PC causing stability issues.. copied all the plugins from the 1070 PC over and all is working.. Guess this is considered solved and wow I am jealous of your 1080 Ti
