[RESOLVED] Error opening MP4 files

Hello.

A friend of mine gave me mp4 files created by his camera.
I'm unable to open his files, DGIndexNV gave me an error message.
I'll PM you my FTP server informations where you can get one of these files.
Tell me when you have retrieved it.

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder

Another thing not helping, it's that the button was withint the facebook and twitter advertisings. Most of the time, on pages of hosted files, all the big download buttons like this in the middle of advertisings download a lot of things/crap, but never the file you're looking for... Most of th...

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder

In one of your post, there is this video : Philips_Ultra-HD_Beach_Life_supershop-demo-3
Is it possible to have a link where i can download this ? I would like to test/check on my system that everything works fine, and i don't have h265 HDR 10 (or 12) bits video.

And maybe if you use VirtualDubFilterMod, it may even work properly without the need of ConvertBits(8).

Re: PAL to NTSC telecining

I've read indeed the document, it's... astonashing.
I mean, it's supposed to be a spec. Either a video format is supported, or it's not.
How can you have a spec with a format "wich may not be supported by all players"...?
It's totaly useless.

Re: PAL to NTSC telecining

Pitch shift can be an annoyance though with concert DVDs, especially for the few people (not me) with an "absolute hearing" (I don't know the correct term in English). ... and eventually apply audio pitch correction for the sensitive listener. I forgot to said that, yes, music can be the exception,...

Re: PAL to NTSC telecining

PAL telecine has always (or 99% of the time) been done by speeding 24fps to 25fps. Living in a 25fps country for several decades, i've never been bothered by all the "speeded" film i've watched on TV at the old times. The reason is that the pitch is only noticeable in relative, not asbolute. I mean ...

Re: [RESOLVED] HEVC/H.265 10/12-bit Support

According the last 2 of mastering_display_colour_volume are u32, and looking at the values, can i guess that the parameters are in this order : MASTERING max_content_light_level max_pic_average_light_level display_primaries_x[0] display_primaries_x[1] display_primaries_y[1] display_primaries_x[2] di...

Re: [RESOLVED] HEVC/H.265 10/12-bit Support

Ok, thanks.
Sorry if i'm bothering you, it's just that i have this (little for now) idea to try to make an HDR to SDR plugin converter, so i'm trying to gather information of how this what seems to be a nightmare works... :?

Re: [RESOLVED] HEVC/H.265 10/12-bit Support

Ok, i see, nice work. :bravo: I think now we'll have to see if in real life it exists files with several SEIs information. This will probably take a little time. Edit I've take a look at the help file of the last version. You said mastering information follow the HEVC spec. Can you pinpoint me to wh...

Re: [RESOLVED] HEVC/H.265 10/12-bit Support

Nice. In that case, if possible, put also the frame number before the SEIs (unless it was allready intended to).
After, next step will only be possible if avs+ implement frame properties...

Re: [RESOLVED] HEVC/H.265 10/12-bit Support

From the few i've understood (but i'm not sure at all i've understood properly), mastering parameters can change on the fly, it's the core purpose of the HDR thing. In that case, how do you correlate the informations of the MASTERING line with the frame number ? Or asked differently : How do you kno...

Re: [RESOLVED] HEVC/H.265 10/12-bit Support

Unfortunately i know almost nothing about HDR, except it seems to be some kind of nightmare. I never said anything was missing. It's just that it seems that to convert properly HDR, you need metadata that seems to be only on the h265 stream, and these informations can't be transmitted to avisynth. O...

Re: [RESOLVED] HEVC/H.265 10/12-bit Support

3. CUVID delivers full 16 bits only, and I don't care to add code for all the conversions when you can simply use ConvertBits(), which also allows extra options, such as choice of dithering method, etc. ... pinterf can implement these conversions way better than me. Great point also indeed... ;) Th...

Re: [RESOLVED] HEVC/H.265 10-bit Support

Thanks for this, i think it will be a great step. My questions are just to understand how it will work. - What will the fulldepth default value will be ? - In case of 10-12 bits, the ouput will be 16 bits if i understand properly. Is there a possibility to know what was the original "true" bit...

Re: DGDecomb

What does your filter do with the interlaced fades in the stream you gave? "Nothing" or some wrong mix-up is also possuble, but in any way there is no possibility to have a true progressive picture in that case, because two IVTC patterns are mixed up. So, I'll deinterlace them after with my deinter...
