Re: CUDASynth
Tell you what, I'll do some testing and post full results with full scripts and we can go from there. Beaut ! :hat: One of my motivations here is to know whether using the asvcompat layer for Vapoursynth loses performance versus native. To be honest, I'd like to know why I should bother with the PI...

Re: CUDASynth
Extremely nice work, DG. Thank you. edit: To allay my lack of clarity, in the context of the new pipeline enabled DGDecodeNV.dll and the aforementioned test scripts with like (a) core.std.LoadPlugin("C:/Program Files (Portable)/dgdecnv/x64 Binaries/DGDecodeNV.dll") clip = core.dgdecodenv.DGSource(r'...

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion
Just a note about the .rar file not opening in 7zip commandline,
Per http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p ... ost1853939 when I try to manually use standalone z7ip to even list the rar file, it fails.
Would it be possible to consider using .zip or something ?

Re: CUDASynth
testing, sorry, per the CUDASynth.txt "* Vapoursynth is not yet supported" unfortunately I no longer have avisynth. Filters possibilities ? You have current functionality for - decode / deinterlace / crop / resize - denoise - sharpen - HDR10 to SDR That's about all I use, other than maybe an occasio...

Re: CUDA Suggestions and Talk
On a separate tack, I see that cuda toolkit version 10 is released, along with the usual need for the latest driver. https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-toolkit-release-notes/index.html I wonder, does this affect any of DG's tools and/or present any opportunity for further DG magic ? I note with inter...

Re: CUDASynth
Now I ran this script: DGSource(fdst="gpu0") DGSharpen(fsrc="gpu0") prefetch(2) I got 206.3 fps! :wow: This means that thanks to CUDASynth, a limited sharpen filter is being executed on a 3840x2160 frame essentially for free. This is what I mean by bringing out the true power of NVDec/CUDA for Avis...

Like an old time sling but hanging on ... per this in the days of steel frame bikes ...

(nowadays they use a hand sling)

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
I have the initial port to CUDA completed with Reinhard tonemapping. It's running at 80 fps on HDR 3840x2160. Pretty good. Software mode runs at about 1 fps, so that's an 80x speedup. I'll add the option for my local tonemapping and then give y'all a test version. I expect the frame rate to drop by...

whilst the old fella is amazing, and at near 80 was last week on his bike grabbing the back of my jersey and pulling the two of us up a steep hill as I tried to dig deep, I'll leave it at that.

Nice ! Smart people run in your family by the sounds :) I admit I was given the bike by a relative whose name was well known internationally :D He was in many ways a world leader in that era in that field. Tough smart and durable, to operate and achieve at those levels. Although, his range of skills...

Yes, brain fade and I realised it's a rotate 2 seconds after clicking submit, oh well. 2 flips will do it as you say. It it a bianchi carbon fibre road bike and has survived the prangs so far thank goodness. A new helment was required though, the old (good) helmet was worth every single solitary cen...

[SOLVED] dgsource ... vertical flipping (just asking)
Hello. I see there's nothing mentioned in the manual about an option in DGSource to vertically flip a video. I guess it's doable easily enough in vapoursynth, so just checking in case there is something in there but not exposed. I have a new bicycle and an ebay cheapie to-be-delivered "MGCOOL Explor...

:agree: Note sure if this of any use or interest https://developers.google.com/media/vp9/hdr-encoding/ under the heading Convert SDR to HDR with a look-up table (LUT) Converting HDR to SDR requires the transcoder to understand how to map brightness levels and colors to the smaller BT.709 color space...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping for DGDecodeNV
Thank you for your confirmation, that sounds like a good plan.
OK, ffmpeg's -vsync 1 -r 29.97 looks like the go to treat it as cfr, so timestamps are fixed up and audio remains in sync.

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping for DGDecodeNV
OK, thanks, I'll try that. I uploaded another clip "05" where the minimum VFR frame rate is reportedly down to 16. Would that "assume CFR" approach still be doable with clips like that ? Bit rate : 17007029 Bit rate : 17.0 Mb/s Width : 1920 Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1080 Height : 1 080 pixels St...
