Strict AVC and TS files

Hi. I read some posts in here, which suggested that turning on "Strict AVC" might be a good idea, and it also seems to be the default now. So I though I would enable it. Today I was going to encode some .ts file I had recorded, and suddenly it isn't possible to open the avs file in VirtualDub, AVSPm...

Re: DGDemux development

@renols Do you have disks with plain vanilla DTS and DTS HDHR (not DTS HDMA)? I need to test those. I am not at home right now. But when I get home tomorrow, I will have a look. I think that most of the disks I have will be DTS-MA or TrueHD. I'll get back to you. renols I have now had the time to l...

Re: DGDemux development

Hi. Very nice work on DGDemux. Been following the development, but unfortunately haven't had much time to test myself. I have a question though. How about DGIndexNV. Does it have the same "issues" with DTS gaps as DGDemux, or is DGIndexNV demuxing working differently and spot on when it comes to AC3...

Re: Seamless branching issues?

I have just tested with Cars, the first one, and everything looks to be in perfect sync. Subs, thd and the embedded AC3 are all in sync at the start and at the very end. I think that when it works on those two titles, it will work on everything with seamless branching. Can't imagine other movies wit...

Re: Seamless branching issues?

Gaps processing for THD embedded AC3 demuxing now released in slipstream 190. @renols For me all the audio/subtitle streams in Cars 2 are now demuxed with proper sync to the demuxed video. Can we mark this thread resolved? I think so. Sounds great if al is now sorted :-) If you want I can test with...

Re: Seamless branching issues?

Hi. Download makemkv and use that to decrypt the disc. You should end up with a folder with all the files decryted. From there on it is just the same as working with "normal" bluray disk (more or less). At least in dgindexnv there is no difference wether you index a decryoted 4k disk or a bluray dis...

Hi. I bought it from amazon.com. https://www.amazon.com/CARS-Blu-ray-Larry-Cable-Guy/dp/B07T3NQ9YW/ref=sr_1_1?crid=30P684WLJZTX7&keywords=cars+2+4k+blu+ray&qid=1568308826&sprefix=cars+2%2Caps%2C223&sr=8-1 It has English Dolby Atmos and Spanish Dolby Digital Plus audio tracks. [RESOLVED] Seamless branching issues?

Hi. Disney have just released a bunch of their animation movies on 4k. I got one of them, Cars 2, and wanted to make a compressed mkv file for my home system, while leaving the physical disk on my shelf. This disk however has no less than 74 m2ts files in the english playlist. Yes, 74. When I demux ...

[RESOLVED] -at command line option.

Hi. When using the -at command line option, it seems to depend on whether "Enable template" has been marked in the GUI or not. I am not sure what the default is, but I did not have the setting checked, and spent quite some time figuring out why I did not get an avs file created when using the -at co...

Re: Problem with sup files?

Hi. I just tested with the source on which I had the initial problem where the time of subs were reset at start og each m2ts file. On this particular source eac3to ended up with the subs at the end of the movie being around 1 1/2 seconds out of sync. With this build of dgindexnv as far as I can tell...

Re: Problem with sup files?

Hi. Really appreciate you spending the time on this. Unfortunately I can't be helpful when it comes to all the technical things. One thing I have tested is to create a mkv file by opening the mpls file in mkvtoolnix, and saving it as a mkv file. Using this process, and demuxing the mkv file with dgi...

Re: Problem with sup files?

Sounds good. Just a small note. Looks like seamless branching can be a problem for eac3to as well. A subtrack can be 1 second or more out of sync by the end of the movie in some situations. All I can think of, is that it must be the seamless branching that causes maybe some rounding errors or someth...

[RESOLVED] Problem with sup files?

Hi. Its me Again :-) I am trying to demux a bluray choosing the mpls file. eac3to shows that there are no less than 21 m2ts files in the mpls file. dgindex demuxes all just fine, and when comparing the size of the sup file with the one created by eac3to, the size is exactly the same. However the fil...

Re: What happens to embedded AC3 in truehd?

Sounds great.

I see no reason as to why it should not give the same result muxing the streams seperatly rather than adding the thd+ac3, since mkvmerge splits it in two streams anyway.

What you are suggesting should Work just fine I believe.

Thanks a lot.

Re: What happens to embedded AC3 in truehd?

When I use the thd+ac3 file I always mux it with mkvtoolnix, which automatically seperates thd and ac3 to two seperate tracks in the mkv file. But I also use the AC3 track alone sometimes. Which would mean having to use eac3to to extract the AC3 (embedded) stream. If eac3to should be out of the equa...

Re: What happens to embedded AC3 in truehd?

If all three options could be available it would be super. The options I use personally is thd+ac3 or just ac3. Don't think I have ever used just thd. But maybe someone would like that option. If it is no big programming task for you to add all three options, that would make it most flexible, and pe...

Re: What happens to embedded AC3 in truehd?

Hi. Thanks for the explanation. When just using -demux with eac3to, it looks like it does the thd+ac3 output by default then. I have tried the sample on my other PC, and of course got the same result, and was starting to pull my hair out :-) Anyway, dgindex does what it should do, and I am sorry for...

Re: What happens to embedded AC3 in truehd?

Hi. Hm, then I must be doing something wrong. the file demuxed by dgindex is much smaller than the file demuxed by eac3to. eac3to file is 4971488816 bytes dgindex file is 4305622576 bytes I guess I will have to do some more testing. All I do is select the thd track in the demuxing menu, and the file...

Hi. Sorry, was not sure if you needed a sample. http://www.mediafire.com/file/5d89c30wno9a2sz/uhd_sample.m2ts/file I hope it Works. I have never used mediafire before. If it is by design that dgindex only outputs the thd stream without the embedded AC3 stream, then it does what it is supposed to do....

[RESOLVED] What happens to embedded AC3 in truehd?

Hi. Maybe this has been covered, but I have not been able to find it with a search for truehd. When I select to demux a truehd track which has an embedded AC3 track, it seems like only the truehd part gets demuxed. What happens to the embedded AC3 stream? Is it because dgindex doesn't detect the emb...

Hi. I have a request for a new command line option. Would it be possible to get an option that allows subs to be demuxed as well. I can now choose video and audio but not subs. To be honest I am trying to replace eac3to in my workflow, because I am experiencing heavy slowdowns using eac3to, where it...
