Thanks ! :bravo: I don't have to like the answer, but I do have to like new knowledge that cost/benefit/effectiveness has been proven beyond doubt and naming a good reason why. One could assume that the same or a similar constraint applies to other gpu manufacturers' kits. A bit of a pity. At least ...

odd change in behaviour after recent MS Windows update
I ended up having to find another way ... I ended up popping the DGIndexNV command into a .bat file with redirects to capture stdout and stderr and capturing ERRORLEVEL, and using .Run with that. Thanks for your info and suggestions ! Looking into it further, the same thing happened in the remote pa...

Please show the part where DGIndexNV is invoked. OK, uncut commands, code, and log, showing DGIndexNV works fine from a command prompt but not longer works from Cscript '.Exec'. G:\HDTV\TEST>C:\SOFTWARE\Vapoursynth-x64\DGIndex\DGIndexNV.exe -version DGIndexNV 241.0.0.0 (64 bit) G:\HDTV\TEST>C:\SOFT...

odd change in behaviour after recent MS Windows update
Hello. Thanks for your lovely tools, I use them every day in an automated process which uses vbscript. After a recent MS update to Win10Pro x64, I noticed the VB script is now freezing at DGIndexNV so I took a look. It seems that the recent windows update may have changed some behaviours, given it w...

Thank you.
I wasn't altogether enamoured with it's stated description/limitations/performance so I guess I'll pass on the technology.

I wonder if they (nvivia) have done anything to make it better since back then ?
Or was it one of those "look at this" marketing features

avisynthplus 3.7.1 is released
Hello, I see that avisynthplus 3.7.1 is released https://github.com/AviSynth/AviSynthPlus/releases/tag/v3.7.1 Is it safe to assume that the latest release of DGDecNV et al will operate OK without change under 3.7.1 ? I am about to attempt cross-compiling ffmpeg with avisynth+ enabled, hopefully that...

status of avisynth+ universal installer ?
Hello I see over on doom9 https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1959120#post1959120 Additionally, if Pinterf/Qyot27 post an update, can just copy the x86 avisynth.dll and devil.dll into the current x86 AVS+ folder, and same for x64. The version_to_install info displayed in setavs.cmd will be wron...

New UHD HDR monitor
We have version VLC 3.0.16. We didn't have to change anything; it works fine out of the box. We did have to adjust the Win10 SDR brightness slider. What problems are you experiencing? Nil problems, yet :) I had been using mpc-hc with madVR and had to change (with gonca's advice) a number of setting...

Hey Rock ! Thanks for the feedback. I installed VLC, which plays HDR fine. I'll start looking at DX12 output. Um, would you be in a position to post any VLC settings you had to tweak from the defaults to make VLC play HDR and SDR media nicely once Win10 is set to HDR ? If it works for you, I'd be t...

Also, it appears to require 3000 series (Ampere) so I wonder if there is a critical mass of such cards owned to make it a worthwhile investment of our time at this point. Yes, ok, agreed, fair cop. More like a long-term wishlist entry when (if?) it becomes more widely implemented. I may not live to...

Just saw this, and posted it here in case it hasn't been posted already (couldn't readily spot it) ... Forked off DGIndexNV to begin the upgrade to the MP4 support. What about AV1 decode on newer cards? Not that I could permit one... :D It is conceivable I may (perhaps) be able to afford a new card ...

Well, taking a punt with prefetch(6) it goes from circa 2.1 fps to circa 3 fps
given the script is an unoptimised hack dealing with super8 and VHS material and qtgmc, I suppose I should be happy with that !
the source is 2h 10m, so a conversion takes a fair while.

Hello. I started to look at logging in a rather long and torturous grab-and-rehack-and-add evolving avisynth+ template script with: SetLogParams("__vid__.debug.log", LOG_INFO) LogMsg(Time("%Y-%m-%d %I:%M:%S %p, %z") + ": Start of debug logging", LOG_INFO) When I noticed the logging yields the messag...

My wife's father passed away on Friday and it falls to me to [continue to cheaply] convert their collection of memories from scratchy Super8/VHS onto DVD, for the family. A goodly age, 87, filled with life and an amazing amount of travel for people of that period, and in the end a really fine passin...
