Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping for DGDecodeNV
Also you may be aware that sometimes manufacturers use HDR as a marketing word. I tested a samsung S8+ mobile phone video recording which has a "HDR" mode ... which doesn't mean it creates 10bit HDR10 or anything like that ... it always produces 8bit h.264 ... always ... apparently "it has HDR" in t...

Re: [RESOLVED] DGIndexNV blowing up in strange ways
Hello, is there any news on the VFR->CFR front and DG tools ? I gather DG tools don't handle VFR. I recently bought a Samsung S8+ mobile phone. ALL videos recorded by the S8/S8+ cameras seem to be h.264 8-bit progressive VFR .mp4 in various resolutions and colour spaces and profile levels as outline...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping for DGDecodeNV
OK, mkv ... Hmm, for a HDR file playback (vs playback of an SDR file via an older media player, since we are also talking about hdr->sdr) things like "Chromecast Ultra" seem to be becoming ubiquitous, where one can cast files to it from a local media server or from internet sources. The Chomecast Ul...

my goodness gonca, envious of the equipment if not the bill. A query ... I have (a) an old PC with a 750Ti nvidia card and another with a low-cost 1050Ti (b) a low cost samsung telly which claims to do 4k and hdr ... but no media player which does 4k or hdr. Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
OK. Thank you. Your remaining questions were answered in a reply to your post at the forum you cited. Yes they were answered there by some kind soul. In regard to tonemap like in here https://github.com/ifb/vapoursynth-tonemap and "DG software", what I meant to wonder was would it be faster in a CUD...

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
Hello, a couple of dumb user questions: I am mis-understanding what's going on with HDR 10bit -> 8bit and "dithering down" to 8bit in DGSource, so a hint or a link would be appreciated if someone could spare the time. DGSource() manual indicates: fulldepth: true/false (default: false) When fulldepth...

Re: [RESOLVED] Apply project range to audio (for MKV)
OK, if you are referring to the last item in this list then I must have been reading it wrongly. r40: fixed rgb output sometimes being flipped in avisource added alpha output settings to avisource, the default is no alpha output fixed gamma being infinite if not set in levels, bug introduced in r39 ...

Re: [RESOLVED] not able to feed the encoder
You only have to rebuild the AvsCompat project and then use the AvsCompat.dll to replace the one in the Vapoursynth install directory. With two minor changes (one already given above) I have this script opening and displaying just fine in VirtualDubFilterMod (delivers P016 to VDFM): import vapoursy...

Re: hcenc and dgdecnv
If I may put my 2 cents in, Here is my AVSTemplate when using HCEnc LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files (Portable)\dgdecnv\DGDecodeNV.dll") DGSource("__vid__", fieldop=0, resize_w=720, resize_h=480) You would have to alter the resize, etc as per your needs Ooh. Now I am a bit giddy with joy at the prospec...

hcenc and dgdecnv
Just wondering ... I have a need to do conversions PAL 1080i mpeg4 -> 576i mpeg2, and gather that HCEnc is still the "best" tool for producing mpeg2 ... unless you advise otherwise ;) Per this post https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/385160-howto-1080i-mpeg4-to-576i-mpeg2-for-dvd-burning#post2496856...

Re: CUDA Suggestions and Talk
My two cents on Sharc's comparison: For sure, QTGMC is the best. I don't see it doing especially better with detail retention, but rather better at avoiding artifacts in motion blur. Whether you can see anything significantly better when played at normal speed is debatable, and whether the improvem...

Re: DGDecomb
I was playing around trying to fix the VPP one-frame delay for bobbing and nothing was working but then I decided to try something off-the-wall and shockingly it worked to flush the VPP and fully correct random access. I also found a way to reduce the GPU<-->CPU traffic, increasing the frame rate b...

PVBob() is working and output is noticeably better than DGBob() (which is the yadif algorithm). Nice ! ok, 2 questions. 1. Re: DGDecomb
@hydra3333 G'day. I saw your post about building AvsCompat at another forum. I was able to build AvsCompat using VS2017. If you want, I would be happy to give you the 4 vsyasm files you need and tell you where to put them. Then you can just build the AvsCompat project. You don't have to build the e...
