Re: Best way to decimate...

Just out of curiosity, where are you getting these MKVs?

I'm not going to debug/analyse Srestore. Can you demonstrate a problem with DGSource() alone?

Re: Best way to decimate...

Nobody has yet written a globally intelligent decimator for abitrary decimation. You are welcome to suggest solutions. The problem is that given a video of M frames that you want to transform to N frames (N < M), how do you pick the "best" frames to remove, while retaining acceptable audio sync at a...

Re: Best way to decimate...

Using MultiDecimate I find the base frame rate of that clip to be around 22.5 fps. So I think you won't find a cycle=6 solution for this. What are you going to do with 22 fps video?

Post a link to an unprocessed source stream sample showing the effects you mentioned.

Re: Filters

You won't find "all the filters" at one site and you'll have to use Google just like everyone else does to find what you want. Of course, *my* filters (as well as some by others that I host) are available at my web site: http://rationalqm.us There is also a list of links to other sites there but it ...

You are indeed memory-bound. You need a card with at least 256MB.

Re: About frame decimation

The only case where it would be possible is when the video is pulled down with 3:2 pulldown using flags (pic timing SEIs). In that case, you can use a tool to strip the pulldown flags and reset the frame rate.

This looks like an Nvidia decoder issue. I will send it to Nvidia and see what they think.

You're off topic in this thread, which talks about version 2038. Please install 2038 and report your results with that.

There is no error list at this time.

Re: GTX 460 FPB and the PureVideo Deinterlacer

It's not confusing at all. Your reference to the CUVID server indicates that you must have recently upgraded your version of DGDecNV. That upgrade is the cause of the change you see. As I said, it has nothing at all to do with the card.

Re: GTX 460 FPB and the PureVideo Deinterlacer

It has nothing to do with the card. With recent versions of DGDecNV the deinterlace settings in DGIndexNV are not carried over. You have to set the correct parameters in the DGSource() call. This is described in the DGDecodeNV users manual. For example:

DGSource("c.dgi",deinterlace=1)

What version of DGDecNV are you using? Post your full script and describe the exact problem you have.

Re: Suggested Settings for MBAFF

Two comments:

1. Just because the stream is MBAFF *encoded*, that doesn't necessarily mean it is interlaced *content*! You need to inspect the video to see if it is really interlaced.

2. Your settings will work for any stream. Of course, you should deinterlace only streams with interlaced *content*.

nomolu wrote:It's interesting that you only needed to update the indexing program and not the decoder.
The decoder knows only about the frames indexed in the DGI file; it doesn't have to re-parse.
Thanks for investigating (and fixing) this problem, admin!
My pleasure.

Re: Corrupt MPEG2 messes up field order

I have slipstreamed what I hope is a fix into 2038, so re-download it, and update DGIndexNV.exe.

I still get a glitch at the error point but it no longer inverts the field order. Please advise your test results and thank you for pointing this out, nomolu.

Re: Corrupt MPEG2 messes up field order

A stream that doesn't show the problem is not useful.

So you are saying that VideoReDo ruins the stream and you want me to somehow work around that? Have you asked VideoReDo for support?

Re: Corrupt MPEG2 messes up field order

A 2MB sample is way too small. Give me 100MB. Also, give me the *original* TS file (before VideoRedo processing), not the demuxed video. You can cut it with DGSplit. Thank you.
