Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
What do y'all think of this result? If you like it I'll make a release. I think it looks really good. But, please allow me to be a bit nitpicking :) There seems to be little artifact exists along the contour if you look closely (literally). Well, either that, or the saturation makes me think it's a...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
@dmcs Can you tell me how that bigger sample came to be? Is it from a UHD bluray? How was it processed? If it is from a UHD bluray, it would be much better for me to get the m2ts file. One problem with the mkv is that we don't know for sure all the metadata is being preserved. Yeah, I used MKVToolN...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
Hi, I hope a 3 minute sample would suffice. Let me know. https://mega.nz/#!oYNFQaTS!fruexcgJYX_BtlfXzTnDEhjgibgdHoqhT0762v_l7Kg I think I've jumped into the "overblown" conclusion too early. My apology. Here are some screenshots that I took, using Mobius, with light=250 and 500 respectively (other p...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
Lowering gamma does help with DGHDRtoSDR to restore the darks for that scene, but I assume when you say "brings back the issue", you mean the clipping of the bright spot, such that it shows a clear outline of a brighter area. Is that correct? If so, I can implement a compression style gamut mapping...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
Hi, I am having an issue with highlight being overblown in this particular scene. If I set light=500, it seems to alleviate the problem, although not entirely. However, every thing else will be too dark. And adjusting gamma brings back the issue. HDR No tonemapping https://malzo.com/i/2018/07/02/xBG...

Re: Indexing Issue
Umm, I think I know where I messed up the overlay. I renamed the x64 dgindex .exe file so that it's easier for me to use in commandline (since both x86 and x64 version have the same file name.) I changed the name back to its original and now the overlay info works perfectly. I am so sorry for the tr...

Re: Indexing Issue
Thank you.
Here's the info:
- 1st: same path in dgi file
- 2nd: verBufferSize: 0
- 3rd -> 5th: nothing happened. It just repeated what shown in 1st and 2nd.

[RESOLVED] Indexing Issue
Hi, I've been running into an issue lately. There are glitches in a few frames when indexing with DGDecNV (latest version) although the file appears to be normal during playback in MPC/VLC. I took 2 screenshots of the same frame, taken with MPC and DGDecNV (also, "show=true" in x64 doesn't seem to w...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
In the manual of the version 1.4 says that the "gamma" parameter has a default value of 1.42. Could this be a typo?

I've got this weird green thing when using Hable in the latest DGHDRtoSDR_1.2.

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
Thank you so much for your work.
From my initial tests, I've experienced some heavy banding with the "equal" value being anything other than 0.

I have a question. In the DGTonemap's manual, the formula for Hable is
Can you tell me what the "x" variable means? Thank you.
Code: Select all
hable(x) = ((x*(a*x+c*b)+d*e) / (x*(a*x+b)+d*f)) - e/f

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
I feel like without an HDR monitor as a reference, every setting would be a guess-timate. Trying to pick the right setting is quite a challenge.

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
I mess around the "bright" parameter, but cannot see any difference between the values (default, 1.0, 5.0). Not sure where I did wrong. Here's my script: DGSource("br2049.dgi", crop_t=280, crop_b=280, fulldepth=true).Spline36Resize(1920, 800) z_ConvertFormat(pixel_type="RGBPS", colorspace_op="2020nc...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping for DGDecodeNV
OK, boys and girls, please re-download to get DGTonemap 1.1. It should significantly improve the whites and be much closer to the SDR versions. You can tweak it further if desired using the contrast and bright parameters. Thank you for the update. Could you please tell me the default values of "con...
