Re: Which to use/buy: DGDecNV or DGAVCDecDI

Buy and try!

Take note however that use of DGAVCDecDI requires the DiAVC decoder also, at $9.99, though there's no doubt a trial period for using that too.

Re: DGDecNV with older NVIDIA driver

Earliest supported driver is 196.21. @karesch FWIW this statement first appeared in 2022. In 2021's Readme.txt is stated this "You must install version 191.07 or later..." Not saying it will work for you, but if it were me I'd try 2021 first. Interesting to hear about "hybrid drivers"--I wonder if ...

Re: GT 520 VP5 performance

There are two executables. The released one uses CUDA for MPEG2 and VPU for everything else. The debug one here: http://neuron2.net/board/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=167&start=10#p1455 ...uses VPU for everything. Thank you DG for clarifying--the earlier posts somehow whistled right over (or through) my hea...

flyordie I'm probably being stoopid now, but I can't seem to sort-out what it means in your posts "CUDA runs" vs "VPU runs"? How exactly are you specifying to the cards and the DGDecNV process to use one or the other?

Re: [RESOLVED] Should DGDecNV work with Nvidia NVS 4200M?

I have a GT 520 ordered. When it gets in this week I'll compare its performance to my GTX 560 Ti. It may be everything an encoder needs. :D With its $50 price tag it could be awesome. If there are certain profiles or test I should do, please let me know The first one I found at newegg is MSI's and ...

Re: [RESOLVED] Interlaced VC-1 logs as progressive

The output log had confused me before because it said Frame Structure was Progressive.

I tried 2040 GUI and CLI on two Interlaced VC1 clips I have and now the log is simply blank after both Frame Structure: and Type: and the Info window shows Interlaced.

No more contradictions. Thanks!

Re: [RESOLVED] successive IDRs with same idr_pic_id

Version 2040 is released. And Yes this problem appears fixed! I re-indexed the entire program and using debug=true with avs/Vdub looked at all the chapter frames, and they are now identified perfectly, where before they showed as off-by-one. I also noticed: 1. Where before the original 264 appeared...

Re: Stream error: successive IDRs with same idr_pic_id...

I appreciate your reply--I came here to edit my earlier post, because it had occurred to me, since I will see if there's something hinky about the placement of I-frames when I look at chapter marks, that I can simply run DGIndexNV GUI and it will tell me if there's this particular problem. I wouldn'...

Do I understand correctly then: you have not looked at the clip I uploaded, and aren't going to? It might be nice if you at least confirmed: yes there are x IDRs in a row with the same id. I don't have the tools/knowledge to examine these. And you don't care that the CLI doesn't show the error in an...

Yes I saw that; but given this was from a commercial BD I thought it warranted a look.

Or perhaps I should say "I thought you would want to see it" since it's probably not the only BD of its kind out there.

I do not recommend or support playing videos during an encode with DGDecNV. I do sometimes surf w/Firefox 4.0...

Re: 3D sde by side with NV

The easiest way I have found is to use admin's own dgsplit, which allows you to cut according the the clip size you want (or need, as in my case to make the file small cuz uploading is slow).

Just make sure after you've cut the file that the resulting clip still shows the problem!
