Minor QOL improvements

Thank you. It's a different philosophy. Tried it your way and it feels comfy and reasonable. I did add the ability to automatically create the output path if it does not exist, typically after manually editing the output path. We could have a Save button that updates the INI file. Gonna do it for th...

OK, I get it now. Here is what I have working locally for the output path selection. When you hit Browse on the output path, it will attempt to go straight to the folder already specified in the INI file (not the last folder maintained by windows). If that folder does not exist, then the path is mov...

Sorry, I don't understand this. Can you just give me a series of steps and explain why what we do now is not enough? And what we should do instead? Thank you.

- A way to configure default output folder. OK, I'm ready to work on these things now. Let's start with your first request above. We currently have the output folder specified in the INI file. If you change it in the GUI, the new path is stored in the INI file. You can also edit the INI file direct...

nvidia winding down support for older gpus again

Why not just keep the 1050Ti? Just because driver updates stop, it doesn't mean things are gonna stop working. I'm in a similar boat with one of our PCs (4770K + 1080Ti). There's no point to any upgrade as the CPU is very sucky now. And it still works just fine. If you must upgrade, I'd go with anot...

How does audio DELAY work?

Thank you, hubblec4. Yes, and you're asking about what mediainfo thinks of your remux. We don't support either mediainfo or mkvtoolnix. Better off at Doom9 for that kind of thing. You can ignore a -7ms delay, it is insignificant. Change it to 0 and be happy.

Thank you. Your source file has a single set of VPS/SPS/PPS at the start of the file. When you cut the first 4 GOPs you created a file with no VPS/SPS/PPS. Such a file is undecodable. You can try setting the encoder to insert parameter sets at regular intervals. Or you can make the index without cut...

Possibility of a Lossless iDCT Algorithm Option?

It's clear you don't understand the theory and what is going on. You admit to it. As I mentioned I don't have time to teach you about coding/decoding theory. Therefore, I can only repeat what I said before. If you can specify and provide source code for an iDCT that you would like to have added, the...

Possibility of a Lossless iDCT Algorithm Option?

Seems to respect the algorithm choices that are set in the D2V indexes though, unless that's AviSynth handling everything and VirtualDub2 is just the viewer still in that instance. No, the virtualdub2 MPEG2 plugin is doing the decoding. OK, so virtualdub2's MPEG2 plugin uses an iDCT "adapted from x...

Possibility of a Lossless iDCT Algorithm Option?

No, the frame labeled "source" came directly from the DVD VOB itself with no modifications and or alterations. That is not possible. The frame is coded in MPEG2 on the DVD and to get a frame for display you must decode the MPEG2. Decoding includes application of the iDCT. Just tell me exactly how y...

Possibility of a Lossless iDCT Algorithm Option?

Welcome to the forum. I assume that the frame you labeled Source was created by ffmpeg. If so, then you have shown only that the iDCT algorithm that ffmpeg uses is different from the DGIndex IEEE-1180 reference algorithm. There is nothing to point to one of them as being more correct. If you can pro...

Corrupted decoding when using DGIndexNV

I cannot duplicate this with my installed driver 551.23. I'm also reluctant to get that excited over a random MKV torrent for which I have no idea how it was encoded, etc. It could be violating constraints for HW decoding. In any case if it is an Nvdec issue there's nothing I can do about it.
