Re: DGDemux development

DGDemux/DGDemuxGUI in its current form is withdrawn. Do to abuse of DG's work all of his software going forward will be protected in the same way as DG tools. Those people who have contributed ideas and bug reports will be granted free license keys. This may take a few days to set up.

Re: Audio out of sync for iPhone 11 videos

Cool, oleg99, sounds like you are rocking and rolling. Maybe it might help to reduce the bitrate (if possible), as you are capturing UHD. Bullwinkle would say: 29.77? Snort!

Best Thanksgiving wishes to you and all!

Member Rank System

The member rank system has been removed. It served no purpose and there is no objective point-of-contact to decide who does or doesn't qualify.

Re: Invalid data found

First, I don't know if it is relevant to the message, but get rid of the prefetch(6). DGSource is a HW decoder and the HW operates serially. Regarding the error message, I do not provide support for ffmpeg nor get involved with debugging it. Please consult with the authors for problems with ffmpeg. ...

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion

Guys, I have added a 'HDR' field to the HEVC Info dialog. This will show "PQ" for HDR10, "HLG" for HLG, and is blank for SDR. I also figured out how to properly detect HDR. There are two ways to signal it: 1) through the transfer_characteristics (16 is PQ, 18 is HLG), and 2) through SEI messages. Pr...

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion

This is interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGSjun9gsbs It shows that, compared to a proper conversion to SDR 709, playing HLG 2020 directly is "OK" but it is much darker and there are color shifts. Probably your clips will perform similarly. Seems to me there is indeed a good justification...

DGDecNV slipstream 185:

* Added __h2s__ macro to pass HDR to SDR parameters to DGHDRtoSDR(__h2s__). [gonca]

* Fixed regression of 184. H2S settings were being read as the Default Save Project Path. :facepalm:

* Updated the DGIndeNV user manual.

Re: HDR -> SDR conversion

Any chance you could give me a link to one of those transport streams? You can use DGSplit to cut the first 50MB. Only you can decide if it looks "good enough" with no special processing. With one of your streams I can try it both ways and we'll see how they compare.

Re: Displaying HDR in DGIndexNV GUI

Everything is working except the bonus template stuff. May decide to pass on that. Just have to do some regression testing and then make a slipstream. The sliders have 0.01 resolution. Interestingly, it was not so easy to update the display on a slider change. There was no existing code or entry poi...

Re: Incorrect duration after indexing

This is a classic example of the "video with no audio" problem described in the user manual Appendix F. There are several resets of the System Clock Reference (SCR = 0) at the beginning of the stream (look at a timestamps dump). A player can track these SCR resets whereas when DGIndexNV demuxes stre...

i'm very looking forward to the HLG2SDR function.
I didn't make one because of the supposed backwards compatibility of HLG. Can you further justify your request?

Re: Incorrect duration after indexing

Please provide a link to the unprocessed VOB. We cannot do anything without it. If you want to use my FTP please send me a PM.

If a field order transition is detected it gets automatically fixed and a backup DGI is created that contains the unfixed index. A warning popup is not generated.

[RESOLVED] Displaying HDR in DGIndexNV GUI

In another thread Guest 2 suggested adding the capability to convert HDR to SDR for display in the DGIndexNV GUI. So, thanks to some freshly made l. reuteri yoghurt (with fresh blueberries), the divine energy burst again ignited within me and produced a working HDRP016ToSDRRGB24 kernel. Of course, i...
