Re: Feature Requests
The product is mature enough that at this point the likliehood of a reindexing with a higher version changing the delivered frame locations, trims, etc., is close to zero, and if it did, I would mention it prominently in the change log.

Re: Feature Requests
That will always cause *something* to not operate correctly, because I do not change the level when nothing is affected. Whether you notice the thing that is no longer correct depends on the particular change. For example, you may not notice that hints are wrong if you do not use them. That is reall...

Re: Feature Requests
I missed the notification of DGI file version NV12 for build 2034. I have added it to the change log in build 2036.

I'll add it to the DGI file for the next release. Thanks for the suggestion.laserfan wrote:Is there a way to automatically note the version? Or could it be saved with either the .dgi file or the .log file?

Re: Feature Requests
That surprises me because the video from DGDecodeNV is considerably more blocky than I see when opening the video via DSS in AvsPMod. That is ridiculous. DGDecNV is a bit perfect decoder just as all AVC decoders are that adhere to specifications. Again, please show your evidence and stop creating s...

Re: Feature Requests
Sure, what you say is correct. The problem is that CUVID does not give me any access to the quants. But I'm not so sure the quants bring that much to the table anyway. I've not seen any evidence for it. It would be nice to have a GPU deblocker and that's what I will probably tackle first.

Re: Feature Requests
I concur with everything Didée said regarding DGDecNV deblocking. (I'd use the built-in deblocking (cpu option) of DGDecode in preference to Deblock(), but if that is not strong enough a dose of Deblock() can be added. That's neither here nor there for the subject of this thread, however.) RedDwarf,...

Re: Dual NIC and software protection thoughts
There's a technical reason that allows a very simple exploit if I do that. I will not discuss details of my protection so you'll have to trust me on it. I'll have another look at it to see if it can be blocked but it's not a high priority for me. At this point my protection is so highly distributed ...

I have header removal compression working! I still have to regression test it. But it should be in the next release.

Re: Feature Requests
Feature requests: - Crop in increments of 2x pixels instead of the current limit at 4x (I have a DVD series with a ugly 2pixel top bar) - Bring back a hotkey for "Close" as in DGIndex (F3 in DGIndex was hotkeyed to close, but now that is Step) I've implemented both of these. They will be in the nex...

Re: Using nvidia "functions" with dgindexnv.exe
Welcome to the forum, Didée. 8-) My aims are modest. Obviously, as you say, I am not going to be able to implement TGMC on the GPU. I hope only to offer some reasonably useful denoising that won't eat up CPU. Or, some better deinterlacing than PureVideo. The former is easier of course, since there i...

Re: Can't open MKV with AVC/AC3
The headers still reference parts of the file that no longer exist. It may be OK, if you never try to navigate past the split point.

Re: Can't open MKV with AVC/AC3
Anyway, it's not valid to split an MKV with DGSplit so your results are not useful.
I can't find any specs on header removal compression for AVC video, so I wrote to the Matroska guys about it. I've temporarily added an error popup.

Re: Can't open MKV with AVC/AC3
I used mkvmerge to make one, so no need for a sample. It apparently *does* apply to AVC video.
I'll look into what I have to do to support this. I think it is scandalous that this was made the default for mkvmerge.

Re: Can't open MKV with AVC/AC3
Please provide a sample MKV that does not open in DGIndexNV. Thank you. I cannot see how audio header compression could cause any problem. And you say that video header compression is done only for MPEG4 ASP, so that can't be the problem because DGIndexNV does not open MPEG4 ASP anyway. Maybe it's d...

Re: Using nvidia "functions" with dgindexnv.exe
Those functions are not available for CUVID postprocessing. Until they are added to the CUVID API, I cannot invoke them. I can, however, write my own CUDA postprocessors. It's something I've been considering, but probably my first one will be for deinterlacing better than PureVideo or for denoising.

Please use DGSplit to cut the last 100MB of the file (use segment mode, it's important that it's at least 100MB and include the end of the file). Upload that to mediafire.com and post the link here. Thank you.

Re: Can't open MKV with AVC/AC3
Looks like a bug in my video type detection.
Demux the video with mkvtoolnix. Load the raw AVC in DGIndexNV and see if it still happens. If so, cut 50MB from the front of the raw file using DGSplit. Upload that to mediafire.com and post the link here. If it doesn't still happen tell me.
