I'm not sure if it's what you mean as clipping, but on the edges going from very bright light to green it looks like squares instead of a smooth transition/gradient.
Mostly noticeable at lower light like the light=160 screenshot, the one at 500 looks good.

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
Old versions of madVR used to have a similar issue, fixed a while ago though. Took a screenshot from v.0.92.14 but madshi has been working on proper colors in highlights in the last few test builds, still waiting on a final decision. There's definitely some desaturation happening, in the past you co...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
It looks good now, pretty much the same colors as HDRTools
Also where has Mobius been all this time? It's amazing the control you can have over highlights, which Hable didn't have

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
You're right, there's a difference between none and mobius mostly only in highlights, mobius being much better at retaining detail and not overblowing the lighting. However the colors are still off, and increasing saturation doesn't restore the reds. I managed to get the old 1.2 version of the plugi...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
Thanks for the update :salute: There seems to be some issues with the tonemap parameters none and mobius are returning the same result, and hable is very dark in <150 luma (light param only affects high luma areas) Also the saturation looks off, the reds are unsaturated for some reason. In order: de...

Yes, it is slow. I'm just mentioning it because the conversions seem accurate.

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
I'm not sure if it's of any use (since there's not much documentation about the code), but there's this plugin which does conversion from BT2020 (and others) to BT709, as well as linear HDR -> SDR https://github.com/jpsdr/HDRTools I've been able to get good results (other than the linear lighting) w...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
I think light defaults for Gamma should be left like they are now, it all depends on the film tonemapped so it should be adjusted by the user.
Resized to 720p to take less space
default vs light=0.55

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
I think white=2.5 for Hable is a bit overkill as default, a lot of highlights are overblown, it should be at least 5.
The old default of ~11 was too high

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
Here's the same frame, gamma at 0.40 and 0.42 It does improve the contrast, though still dim in terms of brightness where light shines. However the Hable method often results in some scenes brighter than SDR, so it might work better in places. If I increase light, it only makes the paper overblown a...

Re: HDR -> SDR tonemapping
Thanks for the update :hat: I've tried the new gamma tonemap and noticed that the midtones are lacking in brightness. However default is much better than Hable for the highlights. It's not a necessity for now.

Thanks.

[SOLVED] Unable to load DGDecodeNV.dll
Hi, I just reinstalled Windows 10 1803 and DGDecodeNV won't load in Avisynth+ anymore. I have the latest drivers so 397.64, all vc_redist x86 2008 to 2015 (tried 2017 too) installed. I had the same error with RgTools plugin, which required the 2015 one and it works now. Getting "code 126: The specif...
