DGIndexIM - Invalid licence after Fall Creator update

Post by Nico83500 » Tue Oct 17, 2017 8:31 am

Hi,
I've upgraded one of my Windows 10 Pro from 1703 (Creator) to 1709 (Fall) and now, I get an error "Invalid licence" when I try to use DGIndexIM.
The ID has changed so I have generated a new licence key.
Is it normal or is it an issue ?
Thank you !

Sorry, Nico, I just saw this. Is it still a problem?

I can't remember which machine ID scheme I have for the IM stuff. I'll check.

Hi Donald, no problem ;)
It's not really a problem because I have some license slots avalaible so I can generate a new license but I've upgraded only one PC.
Thank you !

That's strange because IM uses the motherboard serial, so how could an OS update cause an ID change?
The only thing I can think of is you had an earlier version of IM that used the disk serial.

That's stange but the only change before and after this issue is Windows 10 Fall Creator. No hardware changes.
You could see IM version in attachment.
If it can help you I can give old and new ID.
Thank you !

Only the DGIndexIM.exe component is licensed so that is the one whose version is interesting to us.

Ah, sorry about that.

OK, the new code came at about November 2015, so it looks like you have an earlier version. I recommend updating to the latest code as several things have been fixed.

Be aware that your machine ID will change and so you need to make one last license for that machine. The new machine ID will be the same as reported by DGIndexNV so the same license file will work for both.
