Playlist not respected

Post by downloaded »

Hello everyone,

I'm a long user of DG's great tools but is the first time I have the need to post in the forums.

I have found this issue from time to time but always used workarounds. Sadly its becoming more and more frequent.

Some discs present a test screen prior to the movie itself for around 1m30s. The test screen like shown below (and in this case theres also some extra footage in the end) is present on the m2ts but playlist starts and stops where it should.

Image

The test screen have a loud beep while it lasts.

The issue is that while playlist reports the correct runtime (1h45m in this disc case) DGDemux always demuxes the "full" m2ts file (2h00 in this disc case). Meaning that both the test screen and the extra footage in the end are included and I have to cut them out.

Is there a way do make DGDemux "respect" the playlist or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Sorry for my messy explanation!

There used to be a "garbage skipping" option for that but it became spaghetti-bowlish so it was removed. I'll try to bring it back or do it another way. Can you link me to a typical disk with extra stuff at both the beginning and end?

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you so much!

That's one with extra stuff on both start and end. I can make an iso if needed.

Not seeing any extra stuff at the end on the disk you linked. Are you sure about that? Doesn't really matter but it would be useful for testing to have a disk with junk at the end. Thank you.

Everything from 01:33:00 (m2ts timestamps) is extra stuff.

Playlist lenght: 01:31:00
m2ts lenght: 01:41:50
extra stuff in beginning: until 00:02:00
extra stuff in end: from 01:33:00

Thank you.

Gentle people, here is my first coding effort, guided of course by that legend of a man, Curly.

http://rationalqm.us/misc/DGDemux_test.rar

This test version brings back garbage stripping. Invoke it through the GUI with the checkbox, or directly with DGDemux using -sg. Please report your results. Also note that slow mode was removed (it was broken anyway as it erroneously used fast mode LOL).

I am also happy to report that Bore-Ass has been neutralized. We are still hunting Natasha.

Great work, WW. Looks fine to me. Go ahead and commit it and I'll make a release.
