DGDemux development
Re: DGDemux development
Tell you what, Brit, don't worry about it, I'll ask Sherman.
Re: DGDemux development
Oops, did I do it again?

At least she can dance

Re: DGDemux development
gonca, just so we don't do this on a whim, can you explain your use case, i.e., how this will actually be useful for you?
Re: DGDemux development
I use MakeMKV as my primary decryption software.
As stated before, I don't do 3D on normal basis, but on some occasions I had to get 3D blurays (avaiability, Canada doesn't have US market share selection ) and use left eye view for 2D view
Haven't had to yet, but if I have to back up a 3D view, from these disc backups, I might have to restore the SSIF files from the SMAP files.
I could always dig up the discs and re-rip, but as I mentioned in the 3D request thread my cataloguing system is decent but my storage system for discs sucks. That is why I got Sanctum 3D for testing.
Of course there is always those users whose sole tool for decryption is MakeMKV so they can't re-rip and get SSIF files.
Thanks for considering the request

Re: DGDemux development
Well that is the key; you don't really know if you might need them. You don't need SSIF files for playback from your ripped hard-drive files. That's why MakeMKV does not bother making them. And there is no software I know of to allow that hard drive folder with full SSIF files to be properly written back to an optical bluray disk. It would need to support UDF hard links, etc.
So, you haven't made a convincing argument for this feature request.
Re: DGDemux development
There is one legit case I read about. Some Linux app required the SSIF files for some obscure reason. Linux is not currently on my radar, and safe to say remains close to zero priority for me, so do the math.
Re: DGDemux development
It's a Linux batch/script file to recreate the SSIF files from the SMAP extension.
The TV in question can't playback the SMAP files

Hi DG, just a quick hint:
For 2D .mpls DGDemux 1.0.0.38 and 1.0.0.39 offer unusually high number of angles = number of chapters.
For 3D .mpls it looks ok, number of angles looks reasonable.
Made no demuxing test this time, I just read the angle dropdowns.
P.S. Well just started demuxing of a 26 chapter disc where I could and did specify angle 26.
Then I aborted demuxing after 3,6GB to see what would be the output:
DGDemux 1.0.0.39 starts properly at the beginning of the .mpls with the only available angle 1,
so maybe just a GUI thingy.

Re: DGDemux development
Yeah, just a GUI thing. I'll fix it up. Thanks for pointing it out.
Then I'm going to put a temporary moratorium on new features, because Sherman is upset. He snapped off at slipstream 29 to do the 3x faster development and now there is a boat load of merging to do.

Re: DGDemux development
Please re-download build 39 for the fix.
Re: DGDemux development
Looks good now, Angles are greyed out if only 1 Angle is present.
A quick find from redownloaded 1.0.0.39 (may have sitting there longer):
BD QUACK_D1 (Wall-E): Video stream 1b00 is reported as Dolby Vision, should be Secondary Video (PIP).
In this movie stream 1b00 contains the storyboard version (720x480x23.976p)
rendered on top of the main movie (1920x1080x23.976p).
For the main movie the secondary video consists of storyboard stills all over the place, together with audio commentary.
For the short movie Burn-E the secondary video consists of animated storyboard in the upper left corner.
(If my (partly guesswork) table is correct, 1b00..1b1f should be the PID range for Secondary video streams.)

Re: DGDemux development
I slipped the fix into build 39 so re-download. Thank you for pointing this out.
Re: DGDemux development
Many thanks to you !
Re: DGDemux development
You are most welcome. Thank you for your feedback. Onward and upward!
Re: DGDemux development
Could you please make DGDemux to remember its window position?
Re: DGDemux development
We already have an INI file so it shouldn't be too hard. Sherman will throw a tantrum (we're supposed to be in a moratorium on new features), but life is full of obstacles and disappointments; the brave and honorable just deal with them.

My dream last night, my Lord! A solid focused charge of inspiration, emanating sub-rays of love and euphoria. Could a shy Southern girl ask for more?
In my dream, DGDemuxGUI has a preview button for the selected MPLS file. So so easy now to see what's in a playlist. A simple way to do this is to just open DGIndexNV with the MPLS file, but it would be nice to make the non-nVidia guys happy too, because we aim to please.
Kisses,
Brit
