My 9600GT is a VP2 I think and I bought-but-uninstalled the GT250 so your post here caught my attention!

It's not obvious to me what the "Ti" designation means--is this better than the non-Ti version(s) somehow? I used Newegg to compare two cards and the one diff I could find was 512 CUDA cores vs. 640 CUDA cores for the Ti version of it. Izzat it?
I found it. Apparently the "Ti" designation stands for "Titanium" and is just a marketing differentiator. According to this link, the Ti version of the card has one more SMM (Maxwell "Streaming Multiprocessor") than the non-Ti version.

I see there's another thread here asking about the card--hopefully someone will buy one of them and tell us about performance.

Donald in case you've missed it, the EVGA version of this card (750Ti) can be had today from Newegg for $129.40 after $10 rebate! I'm sure you're on their mailing list, if not the code to use is EMCYTZT59227.

Re: DGDecNV Latest Build 2047

Post by admin »

I have released 2047. Please note that you need to use the old licenses for my other tools until I update them.
Thanks to sef for inspiring this licensing change that eliminates a lot of hassles for users.

Build 2047
----------

* The licensing scheme is changed. The IP information is no longer used, so it is now
no longer necessary to make a separate license key for each networking configuration.
You will need to get your new machine ID and create a new license key using the online
generator.

* The progress report to the console now prints on one line.

* Added an INI file option to disable the encrypted audio warning. Refer to the DGIndexNV
users manual for details.

* Made a fix to kill a bug in transport parsing that could cause frame loss for
some rare streams.

* Fixed a bug in random access for MPEG2 streams that lack GOP headers.

Thank you.

It took me a while to remember how to get a machine ID (help, about), then locate a link to the license key generator, guess at my username :), and then edit the license.txt file so "only one license key should be put into the license.txt file".

q:I run it on two machines, can I put two licenses into one license.txt file so the one config runs on both PCs ?
I really do like it here.

I'll restore the ability to have more than one license in the license.txt file. I'll notify here when I have slip-streamed it.

Hi,
I downloaded (and re-downloaded) DGDECNV 2047 but always get "Invalid License".
I removed the existing license.txt file in order to obtain a new license, but it seems not to work ....

The Help/About ... shows the version 2047, and a number (license) plus the OK button. However when I try to open a video file it displays "Invalid License!"

Did you use the online generator to make a new license with your new machine ID, and then create a new license file? If not, please do so. If yes, please email me a screenshot of the DGIndexNV Help/About dialog box and attach the new license.txt file you made.

The license generator is here:

http://rationalqm.us/licensing.html

Your User ID is in the mail sent to you originally. Your Machine ID is taken from the Help/About dialog. If you lost the original email, please send me an email telling me the email address you used for activation.

Thanks! All ok now. I missed the step with the license generator. I thought it would pop up in the Help/About... dialogue.

I have slip-streamed some changes into 2047 that may improve some Windows-related crashes on Win8/8.1. If you experience crashes when opening the Save Project dialog, re-download 2047 and update DGIndexNV.exe. Please let me know if this improves things or not.

I slip-streamed another fix for random access in MPEG2 streams that lack GOP headers. Re-download 2047 and update DGDecodeNV.dll. I also updated the DGIndexNV users manual and the Changes.txt file.

Ooh, I was playing around and found a way to cut the indexing time by almost one half (e.g., previous 24 seconds, after 14 seconds). :wow:

I'll do some regression testing and then slip-stream it with an announcement here.

Thank you, Sharc!

I have put a release candidate on the web site. You should know how to get it. ;)

Your test results will be greatly appreciated.

Build 2048
----------

* Greatly improved the indexing speed (almost twice as fast for transport streams).

* Updated to CUDA version 6.5 and built with VS2013 Express. Note that CUDA architecture
sm_10 support was dropped by nVidia. That means really old slow cards are no longer
supported.

You're in. :D

Main thing is to make sure nothing got broke and then do some benchmarks to quantify the indexing speed improvement for various stream types. I don't expect much if any improvement for MKV. I have to address that separately.

Thanks for your assistance. The same license you made for 2047 should be fine, no need to make a new one.

I can already see a huge speed improvement on indexing!
I took a ~9min. clip from a bluray remux (AVC/MKV) and it only took a couple seconds compared to (about) 10 seconds.
I'll do some extensive testing with The Three Formats (AVC/VC1/MPEG) in MKV and raw ES.

:(

I really need to start doing things well after a couple hours I'm awake (and a couple litres of coffee)..
I was just going to create a huge thread with a million things building up to using x64 version with Avisnyth+.

Turns out, I completely forgot to get myself a x64 version of VirtualDub.
Luckily, I already have both x86 and x64 versions of Avsmeter to get things rolling.

You might want to update the requirements listed on the DGDecNV page, then. This change means that GeForce 8, 9, 100, 200, and 300 series cards (Tesla) are no longer supported. You would need a GeForce 400, 500, 600, or 700 series card (Fermi, Kepler, or Maxwell) to use DGDecNV, which conflicts with this page, which still says that all you need is a VP1 card (GeForce 8 series) or better.

Hmm, that seems rather extreme. Maybe it's only 1.0 that is obsolete and 1.1+ is OK. Let me test that.

Do you know if those cards use 1.1? You can check with Options/List GPU Devices.
