The cards will also be equipped with an enhanced NVENC encoder and decoder that can encode H.265 streams at 8K/30 FPS and decode with HEV YUV444 10/12bit HDR. H.264 8K and support HDR (VP9 10/12).

It's OK, then just send me one. ;)

Interesting link, thanks!

Did you see the Turing whitepaper?

Just had a look at it.
Will any of the new features be usable by anyone, other than gamers?

Emulation of reality is not just about games.

Could DGDecNV, or any other of your tools, make use of the new features?

We'll see. New capabilities often bring new tools.

Starting to look like AMD is really falling behind big time in video cards

Seems we have bet on the correct horse. ;)

I registered for notification when the nVidia 2080 Ti Founders Edition is back in stock. Ready to pull the plug. We can skip Volta.

I'll have to build a new system with a monster CPU. Can't have my GPU being more expensive than my CPU.

Would you consider a ThreadRipper 2
Lots and lots of PCIe lanes
You could also pair up your 1080Ti with the 2080Ti

For sure. You know I'd never design my next beast without consulting you, right?

You do realize that I have been known to go well over budget on my builds

(Looks like a wrong thread to post?)

Hi~
Somehow I wonder if we can use AMD or Intel GPU for decoding and make them work like DGDecNV?
I have a Macbook Air and PC with AMD GPU. Any chance of making them useful?
^_^ Thanks!

No chance for AMD. I have DGDecIM for Intel but the latest Intel drivers have caused problems for random access so it's dodgy. You can try it.
