Support drag and drop for disk directories

After some patient restoration of my PC after a local energy provider big mistake (they fed my supply with 380V instead of 220V...), hello, I am back.

I have rapidly update my encoding apps and, seeing that now DGIndexNV supports chapters decoding, I tried to drag and drop an entire directory, where I decrypted a BD. The name of the directory is "tt6723592 Tenet" and the root path "G:\Raw\".

On the first drop, a file error popped up:

"Could not open:
G:\Raw\tt6723592 Tenet
File name problem= Illegal characters in name?"

I checked the inner structure and it's a normal BDMV, CERTIFICATE and disc.inf.

I tried a second time and now DGIndexNV became not responsive and then closed with no error.

Opening the same directory with "open disk" works fine.

Welcome back!

Edited your title to make it clear that this is a feature request.

Let's see if it can be implemented.

Ah, ok! I admit that I haven't read all the development thread and I thought it was an implicit feature.

Try harder, Rocky. It's too early to call in the big guns.

If at first you don't succeed, try try again.

@Guest 2

Please test this and let me know if it acts as you expect and if anything broke.

Sherman! If you want to continue to hang out with me and other high-value members of this forum, you are going to have to show proper respect (give respect to get respect), and especially respect your elders, because if you don't we have an exciting movie for you to watch: Back to the Future. I'm sure you will love it, in the future.

I'm sorry, Rocky. I don't know what came over me. It won't happen again.

Seen and not heard. Got it?

Now go port DGDecNV to Linux. Special prize waiting. You won't regret.

Just tested with a BD and it is working.

Will go on using this build and report if any issue.

:bravo:

Ok, I tested it on a dozen of BD so far, and it works fine.

It would be nice to have the capability to explode the mpls to the m2ts list when multilanguage video (i.e. Pixar movies) is present. The next step would be the possibility to play the m2ts with a chosen media player to make easier the choice of the right language video.

P.S: Have you ever thought to merge DGDecNV and DGDemux? You could save some overlapping work, such as have DGDemux as parser for DGDemux, all in one.

Sure it would be possible to have full DGDemux-like UI showing M2TS and streams with preview, etc. TBH, there seems no algorithm for determining what we work on. Inspiration and motivation come unannounced from the divine. Raw peanut supply has been low recently.

I'll release the drag and drop as is for now.

Released as slipstream 224. Also fixed a crash bug with 'Optimize for HDD'. TBH, crashes are a bummer.

Rocky, here's a mockup for the GUI for the MPLS explosion. Please let me know if it looks good for you. Operation will be essentially the same as DGDemuxGUI.

Looks good, thank you Sherman. Please keep the Preview button grayed until an MPLS or M2TS is selected. Also, the text says press Open, but the button says Open MPLS. That was me, I know, but let's fix that up too.

Please give this a try:

http://rationalqm.us/misc/DGIndexNV_explode.exe

Notes:

1. Place DGDemux.exe in the same directory as DGIndexNV. It gets called to populate the disk info.
What fool would duplicate all that code?
2. Open DGIndexNV and then immediately close it to make the new INI file. Then edit Preview_Path
with the path to your preview executable (such as mpc-hc64.exe).

Does this mean that DGIndexNV and DGDemux will be merged?
And if so, will there be an option to demux without indexing

No Sir, Mr gonca. We just wanted the front-end for the M2TS and streams visibility (with preview) for bluray disks. The savings from not indexing would be insignificant, and we want a unified interface for all stream types (DGDemux doesn't do elementary, MKV, and MP4 streams).

Just asking, as my work flow is basically
DGDemux BD or UHD disk
DGIndexNV elementary video stream
Do whatever
Remux

That will be great thing. I have an Arch as second OS and have to use another decoder on it.

Gotta see if VDPAU has what we need.

EDIT: Oy, I discovered NVDec is supported on linux. Maybe a port wouldn't be so bad.
