My wife's father passed away on Friday and it falls to me to [continue to cheaply] convert their collection of memories from scratchy Super8/VHS onto DVD, for the family. A goodly age, 87, filled with life and an amazing amount of travel for people of that period, and in the end a really fine passing surrounded by his family (that doesn't sound quite right, but you hopefully know what I mean). He did really well, for a 10 pound POM.

So, DG's fine tools are the essential mainstay of my "close enough" video conversion efforts - many thanks for them.
A really well done job by you, mate.

Cheers.

So sorry to hear the news. Sounds like he had a real good run in this life and to be surrounded by family shows he must have been greatly loved. May he prosper in the next life.

There must be a rip in the matrix as one of my family members also sadly died unexpectedly on Friday. Spooky.

Thank you for your kind words about my tools.

I am sorry for your bereavement.

However ... as heartless as it may appear ... we live yet, and DG tools still rules ! :salute:

And let us make hay while the sun shines, before the youngies that follow inevitably recreate the world in their way.

I wonder what wondrous things the next generation will imagine and create, with gpus and their replacements :D

It's not heartless, hydra3333. I greatly appreciate your optimism.

Old in years but young at heart. Not planning to fall behind the youngsters...in anything!

Onward and upward.

Ben is at peace, resting and watching over us, protecting us. Now is the time to
love and support family.
