[RESOLVED] Blocks instability in MPEG2 (v2038)

Post by frnando »

Hi,

I'd using dgdecodenv for some time, without problems with h264 & Vc-1 streams.

Yesterday, however, when I tried using it with a MPEG2's m2ts file, I noted some blocks and instability in some parts of decoded video (shows both in dgindex and in dgdecode/avisynth).

I attached below, the link for a small bit of the video file that shows the defect (around frame # 133). The file plays flawlessly in every player I tried it, but fails in dgdecode.

Best regards,

Fernando

I have sent this to Nvidia for their comment. It decodes fine in DGIndex, so it appears to be a CUVID issue.

Please advise what Nvidia card you are using as I need to know if you have VP2 or VP4 engine.

I tried this at home where I have a GTX 460 running driver version 266.58. I do not see the error.

Please advise ASAP what card you have and your driver version.

I'm running it in a GeForce 210 card, with 266.58 (6.14.12.6658) drivers.

It's a bug in decoding of MPEG2 dual prime prediction (which is rare) in the VP3+ engines.

Nvidia has given me a workaround for this. It will be included in build 2039 which is about to pop out. So I mark this resolved.

Thank you for bringing this to light.
