[RESOLVED] Video glitches

Post by SubJunk »

Hi again :)
I'm getting occasional video glitches when using DGDecodeNV that don't happen with other input functions.
I've attached a comparison between DSS2 and DGDecodeNV.
The glitches occur infrequently but always in the same places, there may only be 2 or 3 instances of the glitches per 2-hour video, each glitch lasting for 1-3 seconds.
It has happened with NVIDIA drivers version 266.58 and 275.33, as well as DGDecodeNV 2038 and r2039, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled codec packs with no luck.
I wonder if you have any ideas about what would cause that and maybe suggest a fix.

I expect SubJunk that DG is going to want a sample, with instructions on how & where to see the problem?

Yes, you're probably right.
I've uploaded a sample here and the bug happens for me using the simplest AviSynth script:

Code: Select all

LoadPlugin("DGDecodeNV.dll")
DGSource("sample.dgi",fieldop=0)
Hope that helps :)

I cannot duplicate your issue. Were you able to make it happen *with the sample you uploaded*? I ask that because the name of your sample does not match the script you gave.

Yes, it's the same video, I just changed the name on the server to keep organisation.
Is there any other information I can provide?

OS, card details, and driver version.

Also try cold booting your PC (full power off).

No glitches at all on my v260.99 9600GT Windows7 x64 machine. Will 260.99 work for your card?

Might want to re-download 2039 also as there were multiple early releases of it.

OS: Windows 7 Enterprise x64
Card: GTX 280 (XFX GX-280N-ZDE9) - with latest firmware (I updated its firmware to try to fix the bug but that didn't fix it)
Driver: 266.58 and 275.33 (bug happens with both)

I tried cold booting and it didn't help.

Done, but it didn't fix it

I'll post back after trying 260.99
