Hello,
is there any general consensus regarding what is the current best bang for buck card to buy for using it with DGDecNV? I do not play games, or at least ones that need any killer GPU so my main point would be to have as fast decoding as possible. That means VP4 engine, of course, but there's a zillion generations of GPUs to choose from. What I look for is a cheap card that has low power consumption when idle but can decode stuff fast when called to work.
Can anyone give me some hints?
[RESOLVED] What card to buy?
Re: What card to buy?
Your hint is to read the DGDecNV performance threads, both here and elsewhere.
VP5 (520, 4200) is currently the fastest VPU.

Re: [RESOLVED] What card to buy?
GT520 is the best choice to meet your requirements.

Thanks, it seems that the 520 is dirt cheap and decodes very fast compared to the VP4-capable cards. Need to go shopping next week and then get a license for DG's awesome tools
