Ran 2042rc1 then ran 2041 (called it rc0).
Avisynth, identical script, identical source, identical x264 encode, identical audio re-mux.
No crash, both seemed to work on an 8800GT/i3820quad/nvidia296.10.
Should have observed the encoding fps but didn't.

Binary compared .mp4's with FC, with the result below.
