It reports always on one line only.

Note that the licensing scheme is also changed, so you need to relicense. It's all described in the Changes.txt file.

From there I was able to get the new license without actually installing the software.

I don't understand you. Can you explain that more. You won't get the new machine ID that uses the new scheme unless you run the 2047 version. But you said you didn't install it yet.

When you do actually install 2047, you will find a new machine ID and the license you just made will not work. Looks like you did a NOP.
