It's some kind of problem with GetSaveFileName() on Win 8.1.

I slip-streamed some changes into 2047 that will probably help you. The remaining issue seems to be only that you may not be able to save to the desktop. I'd appreciate knowing your results. Thank you.

Do you have SkyDrive/OneDrive and/or network sharing enabled?

Can you enter an explorer window (not from DGIndexNV), make a screenshot and post that please?

Can you try from an account that doesn't log in to SkyDrive/OneDrive? Can you clean up your SkyDrive/OneDrive account to be sure there are no bad entries?

Ah, okay. I have only been using Windows 8/8.1 for encoding and OneDrive is a must... I need to ask my bother to touch his Windows 7 PC later.

Have you checked that you have no problematic files on your OneDrive? Have you tried logging into an account without OneDrive on your PC that experiences the issue? It's important that we determine the actual cause with some certainty.

So, I prepared a different PC(Win 7, GTX 460, 337.88 driver) for more research and DGIndexNV didn't crash on it. OneDrive might be irrelevant to this, I think. Because I only store my own pictures there. Windows 8.1 is probably the one.

Yes. I tried to remove OneDrive from programs and features, but it did nothing. I wonder if I could completely remove that from Win 8.1.

So, I have made another account/user with turned-off OneDrive, but I saw the same crash. It crashes with drag'n'drop with no additional open/save window, too. (open a video -> try to open a video again -> crash)

By the way, I also tried a different video card(GT 240) on the same PC, but It was same.

Microsoft just released a patch for Skydrive/Onedrive on Win8.1 (KB2980654). It's worth a try.

No luck. It might be a bug of Windows Explorer or the kernel itself rather than OneDrive.

BTW, "Disable_Encrypted_Audio_Warning" doesn't work with the latest(2014-08-12) build. This deletes itself and below lines of DGIndexNV.ini for some reason.
