[RESOLVED] GPU decoder error

Hi...

I have this problem..
when ever i try to open a file with DGindexNV a message appear "GPU decoder : Failed to creat video decoder [100] "
I have updated the Drive and Cuda toolkit and nothing happened

What is your Nvidia graphics card and what driver is installed?

You don't need any CUDA toolkit installed.

My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 840M
and the driver is version 347.52

Is that a mobile device? Mobile stuff sometimes has flaky drivers.

Here is the big question: Do other CUVID-enabled applications work? E.g., LAV and all that? I saw an unanswered post at Nvidia support forum that said 840M would not work with CUVID anything. You would have to follow up with Nvidia about it.

What version of DGDecNV are you using?

There is speculation online that maxwell+optimus 800-series laptops have problems, while desktop 800-series cards do not.

If you can't get it working, send me an email and I will give you a refund.

LAV does work ...

I tried 2041, 2046 and 2048

you don't have to refund , i will try it with another graphics card or something

There are 800-series cards for desktops? I thought nVidia skipped the 800 series to go straight to the 900 series, leaving the 800 series as mobile only.

You could be right. I may have misread the online stuff I found while searching.

It's strange that LAV would be OK and DGDecNV not OK. I'll look into that.

I have tried it with my friend's laptop that use a Geforce 820M and it worked fine =/
