[RESOLVED] File with non-unicode characters won't load

Post by nautilus7 »

Hi, I was trying to open a file in a folder named "Amélie", but it would load, until i renamed the folder to "Amelie". It seems that "é" character isn't supported.

I used version 2050 in windows 8.1.

It should work fine. Not sure where to go from here. What error message did you get?

Well, i'm sure it doesn't work here... :?

I don't get any error message. I just select File->Open and then select my file. Then, the popup window with the "File List" is just empty, instead of listing the selected file. When I remove the non Unicode characters, then it works as it should.

Any suggestions what else to test so you can reproduce it?

Oy, just file list empty. That's not acceptable. I'll try to reproduce with the CP1251 page. Meanwhile, please answer his question. The more data we have the better.

In another domain, did you guys see the latest POS nVidia driver? I'm almost to the point of ditching nVidia and going full bore with Intel MSDK. Woe is me, what to do? Patience is a virtue and all that, but it just keeps getting worse and worse.

Trust me, do not upgrade to 364.xx!

What locale (language) have you set on your OS? For example, if I set my system locale to Russian (CP1251) I have the same issue (file list empty).

It's all Greek to me...

(Locale is set to Greek)

I'm still on 326.80 to avoid the OpenCL regression nVidia introduced more than two years ago now. It's disappointing to hear that they still haven't gotten their act together, as I was hoping to be done with these problems whenever I felt the desire to get a GPU on a newer architecture. Sigh.
