[RESOLVED] BD-Rebuilder DGI-File missing

Post by faithless »

Hi There,

i got exactly the same problem as Ch3vr0n.
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=523

But on my Rig its a GTX 1060.

I got myself a new PC start BD-Rebuilder and it quits in the exact same way.

I installed Avisynth+ i loaded the new binarys (5 mins ago). But in my case there isnt a *.DGI file created in Workingdirectory. So BD-Rebuilders CMD-Command quits with:

LAST CMD:
"C:\Users\faithless\Desktop\BD_Rebuilder\tools\x264.exe" "D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.AVS" --preset medium --bluray-compat --b-pyramid none --weightp 1 --qpmin=0 --bitrate 2700 --level 4.1 --sar 1:1 --aud --nal-hrd vbr --pic-struct --vbv-bufsize 13000 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 1 --ipratio 1.1 --pbratio 1.1 --vbv-maxrate 15000 --threads auto --slices 4 --thread-input --stats "D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.AVS.264.stats" --pass 1 --output NUL

QUITS WITH:
avs [error]: DGSource: Cannot open index file!
(D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.AVS, line 3)
x264 [error]: could not open input file `D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.AVS'

Then i opened VID_00000.AVS with Notepad++ and examined 3rd line, wich is:
DGSource("D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.DGI", fieldop=0)

And its right, the File isn't there.

Has anyone any suggestions on how to get this great piece of Software running again?

Have you verified if you are correctly licensed? I recalled a license key change a while ago, and if you are with your old key, You'll need to generate a new one.

Yes, MeteorRain is quite right. Also, a new machine requires you to generate a new license. Use the online license generator to do that. If that is all AOK, then proceed as follows...

"i got exactly the same problem as Ch3vr0n."

You mean you see a file named something.DGI.dgi? Or are you saying there is no .dgi file at all? Those two are not exactly the same.

Please re-download the absolute latest build 2052 and then open DGIndexNV manually. Try to open a supported video file. What happens?

Thank you verry much you too.

First things first: After i Installed the new Components DGDecNV gave me the License-Invalid-Popup through BDRebuilder. I generated a new one, Popup was gone and never came back. Now i generated a new License as you mentioned and it seems to work again! Thank you verry much

I'm verry sorry for beeing a bit superficial with my error description:

With exactly the same i meant the way as BDRebuilder is quitting. Throwing the error where its selftest is saying "OK, OK, OK,....". But my type of Error was different. I got not the *.DIG.dig thing. I hadn't got a *.DIG/*.dig File at all.

Thank you verry much for your fast help!

I got one last Question just to make shure everthing is running as smooth as it could be.

I noticed the GTX 1060 isnt known in gpus.txt so i tried to add it manually. I did some research and finally added this Line to gpu.txt:
1c03 GP106 [GeForce GTX 1060]
dgdecnv1.PNG
ListGPU
BDRebuilder is running now, but it still uses up to 80/90% of CPU and only between 20 and 40% of VideoEngine. GPU-Load is normally way under 10%
dgdecnv2.PNG
Loads
Is this everything correkt? Is there a way to use the CPU even less than that?

DGDecNV metions i only got 4GB of Videomemory but there are 6GB, am I able to fix this?

Thank you verry much!

Thanks for the 1060 info. I have added it to the gpus.txt file.

BDRB performs both decoding and encoding. DGDecNV can accelerate only the decoding part, so it is not surprising that you have a high CPU usage. It is possible to encode on the GPU but I do not know if BDRB supports that.

The memory information I provide is returned from a CUDA call. If that is incorrect I can report it to nVidia but I cannot fix it myself. It could be caused by the fact that I use an earlier CUDA toolkit, but if I upgrade then I have to abandon some older cards, and I am reluctant to do that. I'll poke around a little and see what I can find about it, although it will be hard without a card like yours.

I am also a developer... so if you got something to test, do not bother to contact me...

Possible language problem there. In English that tells me not to contact you. Probably you meant "do not hesitate to contact me". ;)

Thanks for the offer.

Please run this and tell me how much memory it reports:

http://rationalqm.us/misc/deviceQuery.exe

This is the 8.0 version. If it reports 6GB we can try the 6.5 version just for fun.

OK, thanks. We may have reached the point where we should move on from toolkit 6.5. Let me think about it and maybe run a poll about it.

Hey faithless, I want to make a test build for you. Do you run 32-bit or 64-bit DGDecNV?

Actually, does the memory size matter? I don't really see the point to upgrade the toolkit for the 2GB unrecognized memory though.

Don't worry, I won't do anything rash.

By limiting the compute capability to 5.0 as currently, we miss out on any improvements in 5.2, 6.0, 6.1, and 6.2, etc. We aso suffer from bugs such as this that have been repaired. Is it worth it for a simple NV12->ARGB conversion and GPU info dump, who knows? But similarly, most people have moved on from WinXP. ;)

I asked which DGDecNV you use, 32-bit or 64-bit, but you didn't answer that. :-(

Sorry my bad...

I am using 32bit because 64 bit always gives me the error its unable to find DGDecodeNV.dll... But it's in the Path it looks for it ....

DGDecNV does not use your PATH variable. If you want me to look into this, please post your AVS script and your DGI file. Probably it's some BDRB limitation. Does it support 64-bit operation? Also, you need to have 64-bit Avisynth installed. Do you? You need some kind of switcher if you want to have both 32-bit and 64-bit Avisynth on your system.

Thousands of people use 64-bit DGDecNV successfully, including me.

As a developer, are you able to use DGDecNV manually, i.e., not through BDRB? Troubleshooting is seriously complicated when 3rd-party tools are involved.

No i am not able to execute dgdecnv via command line. I am a Developer for SAP ABAP Application and SAP UI5. But it should be possible to excute a command you tell me.

I didn't say anything about command line.

But anyway, I don't support people dealing with illegally downloaded materials (it puts my forum in jeopardy).
