[RESOLVED] HEVC decoding on 760

Post by Guest 2 »

There's something a bit obscure to me. From https://developer.nvidia.com/video-enco ... ort-matrix my 760 can't decode HEVC, but according to DXVA Checker, it can on DXVA2/DX11.

Which is which?

I don't know without doing some research about it. You say it's your card, so try it and see. Does it work or not?

IIRC, when I had a 750 it worked but in hybrid SW/HW mode. Maybe the 760 is the same.

How can I understand if it's pure hw or hybrid?

DGIndexNV, for example, plain exit when fed with 4k60 HEVC.

760 is feature set D. Hybrid HEVC decoding was introduced in E, and full HW HEVC decoding in F. So your 760 cannot decode HEVC.

The 750 is feature set E, so it does hybrid decoding.

Not sure why DGIndexNV didn't give a warning popup. I'll look into it.

Thanks for your reply. If you need any help testing with my poor guy :D video card, ask.

P.S: Thanks for the crop modification in newer build too.
