[RESOLVED] Cannot open mkv(AVC) in DGIndexNV

I cannot open videos I've recorded with my capture card directly in DGIndexNV:

File open error: Could not find a supported video track (need AVC/HEVC/MPEG2/VC1).

However, MediaInfo shows that it is indeed an AVC video stream.
When I open the video in MKVToolnix GUI and save it (without doing any changes) I can open the new file in DGIndexNV.
Is there any way to open such videos in DGIndexNV directly?

I've uploaded a short sample clip.

That MKV has an AVC stream loaded into an MKV using "VFW compatibility mode" which is deprecated by the MKV guys. Preferred is to use the native MKV mode. I currently do not support VFW compatibility mode and it would be non-trivial to implement it. I won't say I will never do it but it will have trouble getting high on the priority list. Your workaround is just what you mentioned. Or perhaps your capture device can capture in a different container that will load directly.

OK. Thank you for the clarification!
