What are the benefits that would convince me to spend $120 a year on it? I don't have a "mobile device".

It would allow users to post on the forum from their mobile devices.
I don't really see the point, since anybody who wants to use your tools must already own a PC (generally with an nVidia GPU), so they're guaranteed to have a way to access the forum already if they use your software.

I thought the phones had a browser. Why couldn't they just browse here in the usual way?

I've been given to understand that sites designed for displays of reasonable size and resolution don't work well on a phone's tiny screen. The formatting is probably broken, and you probably have to scroll way more than you normally would to get anywhere.
I would also surmise that with the push to deprecate the universal web browser entirely in favour of each service having a dedicated application that mobile browsers are not well maintained in an effort to further that agenda, but that's merely conjecture on my part.
